Study Drug

What is the study drug?

The study drug, or LPCN 1144, is an investigational capsule taken by mouth twice daily. It is a form of testosterone designed to help increase your testosterone levels and may help lower fat levels in the liver.

What does investigational mean?

An investigational drug has not been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or other regulatory authorities to use outside of research studies. Drugs must go through clinical research studies before they are approved and made available to the public.

Have other people used the study drug?

Yes, the study drug has been used globally and overall has been well-tolerated. In the United Kingdom (UK), the study drug is approved for use in both injectable and oral forms. A study with over 8,000 people found that the oral version, what is used in the LiFT study, is as safe as other commercially available options.
